ScrapLens ("ScrapLens," "we," "us," or "our") operates an AI-powered scrap material identification and pricing service at scraplens.ai. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you.

By using ScrapLens, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

Depending on how you use ScrapLens, we may collect:

• Account information such as your email address, display name, and profile preferences when you create or manage an account.
• Uploaded content including photos you submit for material analysis, related metadata, and analysis results generated from those images.
• Billing information processed by Stripe when you subscribe to a paid plan. ScrapLens does not store full payment card numbers; Stripe handles payment processing on our behalf.
• Usage and product data such as feature interactions, subscription status, support requests, and feedback you submit about analysis results.
• Device and technical data such as browser type, IP address, approximate location derived from IP, operating system, and diagnostic logs needed to operate and secure the service.
• Location information when you choose to use location-aware features such as buyer radius search, which may rely on Google Maps services.

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve ScrapLens.
• Analyze uploaded images and return material identification and pricing estimates using AI services.
• Authenticate users and manage subscriptions and billing.
• Send service-related communications, including account notices and transactional emails.
• Monitor performance, detect abuse, and protect the security of our users and systems.
• Measure product usage and advertising performance, as described in the Analytics and advertising section below.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

ScrapLens uses third-party AI providers, including Google Gemini and OpenAI, to process uploaded images and generate analysis results. Image data is transmitted to these providers only as needed to perform the analysis you request. Do not upload content you are not authorized to share or that contains sensitive personal information unrelated to scrap material analysis.

Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights are enabled to help us understand site performance and product usage. These first-party analytics run without using your privacy notice acknowledgment as a tracking gate.

Meta advertising measurement (Meta Pixel and Conversions API) may be used when enabled in our production environment to measure ad attribution and conversion events such as sign-ups and subscriptions. When active, Meta may receive event data including browser identifiers, page URLs, IP address, and user agent. We do not use Meta Advanced Matching to send hashed email or phone fields from ScrapLens.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, Meta measurement is suppressed for that browser session. The privacy notice banner only controls whether the notice is shown; it does not by itself enable or disable analytics or advertising measurement.

ScrapLens uses cookies and similar technologies for:

• Authentication and session management when you sign in.
• Remembering that you acknowledged our privacy notice (sl_privacy_ack).
• Analytics, performance monitoring, and advertising measurement by us and our service providers.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking certain cookies may limit some features of the service.

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers that help us operate ScrapLens, such as:

• Supabase (authentication, database, and storage)
• Stripe (payments and subscriptions)
• Resend (transactional email delivery)
• Google (Gemini AI and Maps services)
• OpenAI (fallback AI analysis)
• Vercel (hosting, analytics, and performance monitoring)
• Meta (advertising measurement, when enabled)

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or users, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. When you delete your account or request deletion, we will delete or de-identify personal information in accordance with our retention policies, except where we must keep certain records for legal, security, or billing purposes.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:

• Access, correct, or delete personal information we hold.
• Object to or restrict certain processing.
• Withdraw consent where processing is consent-based.
• Request a portable copy of certain information.

California residents may have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA. Where applicable, you may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including encrypted storage for uploaded images and access controls on production systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

ScrapLens is operated from the United States. If you access the service from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate, which may have different data protection laws than your jurisdiction.

ScrapLens is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice, such as through the product or by email.
